Mackenzie Update

No pictures today but here's an update. First of all, sorry to all those who don't know what's going on. Don't feel we forgot about anyone. Mackenzie was started on some medicine a few weeks ago for reflux but she had been continuing to vomit after feedings. Monday night she got really sick and we had to take her to the ER where she was admited to the hospital for tests and observations. It was confirmed that she has severe acid reflux that extends to her airway. They've put her on some additional meds and was finally able to come home Wednesday afternoon. She's still coughing though which means liquid is coming up her esophagus and draining into her trachea. The doctor said that will likely mean she'll need surgery to correct. We have a doctors appt. tomorrow (Fri) and hopefully we'll know more then. Pray that it just takes a day or two for the medicine to work & resolves the coughing because I don't know if I can handle her needing surgery. The hospital stay with IV's and tests was bad enough. Then to top it all off while she was there I got a bug and got real sick. I had to leave thinking it was the flu (thankfully it wasn't) but it was hard leaving her there. Brian was wonderful and took care of her all night. Unfortunately though, now he's sick with the same bug. It seems to last only 24 hours but I'm telling you, it's the worst, longest 24hours ever! Keep Kenzie in your prayers and like I said, hopefully we'll have better news after tomorrow. Thanks for all the prayers thus far!!!
